  • We are only interested in working with organisations that are serious about changing people for good.  That means we will work harder with you at the front end to understand the need, develop the solution and agree ways of working throughout the engagement.
  • Each engagement is as unique as the business and people that you have.  Stage 1 allows us to work with you to ensure the delivered result changes people for good.  The research scoping and design element allows us to get the optimum solution ready for you.

  • This intervention delivers value for you.  During stage 2 we ensure we understand they how and what of delivering that value. 
  • Appropriate measures will be established to set a benchmark for your later comparison and evaluation. 
  • These may include:
                  • Current versus future state.
                  • Competence benchmark.
                  • 360 benchmark.
                  • People survey.
                  • Qualitative and quantitative measurement.

  • For this intervention to be a success we need to understand the baseline functioning position, but at this stage we also begin opening up insight into potential dysfunction within the organisation.  It is from this robust starting point we can build your high functioning team

  • Function and form is the first title of the first team workshop we will run with you.  The goal of this session is to make conscious the habitual repetitive pattern, we do this through a series of live experiments examining individuals and team to create rich insight.  This foundation event will become the spring board for continued development throughout the intervention.
  • Throughout stages 1 to 3 we will be identifying specific areas for competence development.  Skills events can be used to develop the needs that become evident through this process.

  • The second face to face event will consider the implications for self and team.  The focus will be on understanding ‘I am…” and “I need to be…” differentiators.

  • The third group intervention will enable you to create and maintain relationships that are supportive, nurturing, responsive, developmental and adult.  The outcome will be moving towards becoming truly high functioning teams, that by default perform highly as a result.

  • The final element of the intervention is concerned with maintaining and improving the new status quo.  Shaping what we are observing in behaviour, environment and conditions into the future.

  • The programme will conclude with a follow up competence review and seek out supporting evidence of change. 
  • Measures determined in stage 2 will be evaluated to highlight tangible results fro, the programme. 

Model.001There is a clear difference between high performing teams and high functioning teams.

Put simply, many high performing teams are not necessarily high functioning. They achieve what they achieve through effort, blood, sweat and frequently tears. Performance in these organisations is exhausting, often stressful, there is fall out and discontent. They are battle zones. In truth, these are not pleasant environments in which to work, but so often we put up with it because when we jump we find exactly the same issues emerging in the fire as well as the frying pan.

In contrast high functioning teams are positively slick, they are pleasant supportive places to exist. They operate in such a different zone that performance becomes the by-product. So nearly all high functioning teams are also high performing, but without the angst found in high performing teams that are not high functioning.

It’s this inability to function highly that we have witnessed time and time again. Almost everywhere you will find people working hard, everyone is busy, at least by the norms of their incumbent culture. Performance is striven for on all almost every front, but it’s like giving a diabetic with a headache some paracetamol when the reality is their blood sugar is too high. Working harder and faster, becoming increasingly busy is not the answer, improving the way we function is.

‘My High Functioning Team’ will walk you and your organisation through these issues while providing the antidotes to the problem. It’s going to be like a gym workout, something that takes time and effort if you are going to see results. It’s like this; we could legitimately do one press-up, look in the mirror, flex our biceps and conclude press-ups don’t work.
